Services

How we can help

We look after dogs, cats and small animals across Waterlooville, Cowplain, Denmead, Horndean and the villages nearby. Some dogs like a run with friends and others would rather have a quiet sniff round the block, so we'll work out what suits yours.

Dog walking

We keep groups small on purpose. With two or three dogs who get on, the walk is calmer and each dog gets proper attention. If yours would rather be on their own, we do solo walks too.

House sitting

If you're going away, your pets can stay at home and keep to their normal routine. We stay over, so they're fed, walked and properly fussed over, and someone's keeping an eye on the house.

About us

Hello from Teresa and Mabel

Hi, I'm Teresa. I was a teaching assistant at a local primary school for nearly 20 years before starting Muddy Mabel. You learn a lot of patience in a classroom, and you get good at noticing when someone isn't quite themselves. I find both just as useful with the animals I look after now.

Mabel is our fox red Labrador. Give her a muddy puddle and she'll lie down in it, which is how the business got its name.

As well as dogs, I look after cats and small animals, whether that's a walk, a quick feeding visit or staying over while you're away.

Leaving your pets and your house keys with someone new isn't easy, so I always start with a meet and greet. You can ask me anything, your pets can get to know me, and I'll look after them the way I'd want Mabel looked after.

Reviews

What owners say

Real reviews from owners who've booked Teresa through Rover.

Teresa is the perfect person to choose when looking for someone to care for your pets. She is such a kind, caring a nurturing person, aswell as being extremely thoughtful and communicative. She has cared for my dogs on a couple of occasions and I always know they are in very safe and loving hands.

Teresa walks our elderly rescue dog. She professionally and caringly accomodates M's specific needs and ensures she has enjoyable and stimulating walks. Teresa safely returns M and provides us with reassuring feedback. Teresa is always punctual and reliable. I would not entrust our dog with anyone else.

I knew that Teresa was going to provide excellent care for my cats from the second I saw her interact with them. She was kind, gentle and patient (particularly with my anti-social, grumpy old tabby cat). It was great being able to leave them and know that they were being properly and professionally cared for. I would highly recommend Teresa to anyone!

First time I have used Teresa and she was excellent, she took really good care of my cat Rosie, fed her, played with her and left a clean and tidy litter tray. Would highly recommend her. It is so reassuring when away that you can relax and know your pets are being well looked after.

FAQ

Things owners often ask

Anything else, just ask us at your meet & greet.

Do you walk in the rain?

Yes. The clue is in the name. Dogs still need their walk when it's wet, and they get towelled off before they go back indoors.

How do you pick which dogs walk together?

Every dog has a meet & greet first, so we get to know their size, energy and temperament. Groups are matched carefully and are never bigger than three.

How will I know how the walk went?

You'll get a photo and a quick message after every walk or visit, so you know they're home safe and how they got on.

How much does a dog walker cost in Waterlooville?

A group walk is £17 for an hour, a solo walk is £20 for an hour or £15 for 30 minutes, and a second dog from the same home is £10 extra. Collection and drop-off are included on every walk.

How much does pet sitting cost?

Overnight pet sitting in your home is from £70 a night. A 30-minute home visit, with cuddles, a toilet break, playtime and food, is £15. Cat and small animal feeding visits are £12 for 30 minutes.

Do you offer a pet taxi?

Yes. We can take your pet to the vets from £20, or to the groomers and home again from £15.

Which areas do you cover?

Waterlooville, Cowplain, Hart Plain, Purbrook, Widley, Denmead, Horndean, Lovedean, Clanfield, Crookhorn and Hambledon. If you're just outside these, ask anyway.

Do you walk nervous dogs, puppies and older dogs?

We do. Nervous dogs, and dogs still learning their manners, are better off with one-to-one walks. For puppies and older dogs, a 30-minute home visit at their own pace is often a better fit than a long walk.

Do you look after cats and other pets?

Of course. Home visits and house sitting cover cats and small pets too, so food, fresh water, litter trays and a bit of company.

Are you insured and checked?

We're DBS checked, fully insured and trained in dog first aid. Ask to see the paperwork at your meet & greet and we'll happily show you.
